Thursday Oct.15

 Hello Friends and Family,

We are excited to go for another coulee walk tomorrow!  The forecast for tomorrow looks chilly and damp, so please make sure I am dressed for the weather and have a portable pocket snack that I can bring as we won't be bringing backpacks with us this time.

We have had a busy couple days practicing our data collection and number representing skills.  In particular we have been learning about using tallies to record numbers and how to count by 5s and 10s.  Help me practice these skills at home!  We polled our classmates today about their favourite fruits and pizza toppings - see if remember what most people preferred.

We also got to listen to a story from Mrs. Kinsman this week - ask me what books we heard.

We learned about the 3 ways to read a book - ask me what they are (hint:  one of them is retell the story).  We practiced retelling a story as a class - ask me what story we retold.  We also had the chance to finish and share some of writing from this week during author's chair.  We wrote about our long weekends, and it was so interesting to hear about what everyone did for the holiday.

Thanks for reading!
