Wednesday June 2nd

 Reminders:

- As the days become warmer and brighter, please send your child with a water bottle, and hat to use when we are outside throughout the day! Applying sunscreen in the morning is also encouraged as we like to spend more time outside for learning.

- There is no school this Friday June 4th!

Our Day:

- In literacy we have been talking about how punctuation can be used in our writing in order to make our writing more clear and more interesting! We have learned how changing the punctuation at the end of a sentence can change the meaning entirely! Ask your child how they would read these sentences, depending on the punctuation:

She went to the park!

She went to the park.

She went to the park?

-Today we spent some more time talking about why we have been wearing orange shirts this week. We talked about how important it is to feel safe and loved at school, and how people in residential schools did not feel safe or loved. Students have created 215 orange hearts with messages that we would want these children to hear. We will be putting these 215 hearts in the windows of our classroom as a way to honour and remember these children. Please take some time to look at the hearts over the next week.

- In math, students had a chance to showcase their skills they have been using to solve addition problems including number lines, stacking, counting on, and base 10! Ask your child their favourite strategy!

- While Ms. Low's class went to music, Mrs. Day's class played a community building game focused on strengthening our communication and kindness.

Enjoy the beautiful weather!
